I didn’t always believe that I was a good person. But I most certainly do now. Change isn’t always easy and changing from a life of addiction is something that could take many lifetimes. Imagine finding someone or something that believes in you, even when you don’t believe in yourself? That was the TEEM organization. TEEM and my case manager Travis stood by me no matter what. That type of power is life changing and I can say that I’ve been free of my addiction for nearly three years now. Although I still battle with my diabetes, that’s not nearly the same as battling a drug addiction. TEEM helped me feel empowered. They offered me numerous classes to assist in my development and you know what, I actually enjoyed them. I also learned the lifelong lesson that you are who you surround yourself with. I now surround myself with good people. What a difference that makes.  I’m blessed to have four children. I live with my loving daughter and I now tell people “If I can do it, you can do it.”
